Can Your Business Afford That Extra Space?
Your products have taken over the spare room. Storage sounds like the next step. Before signing, turn that monthly bill into a sales question.
If storage costs $300 a month and each sale leaves $15 after variable costs, you need 20 additional sales each month just to cover storage. That does not cover your other business bills or create extra profit.
For a studio, market booth or shop, list the full commitment: rent, utilities, insurance, transport and any extra help. Separately check deposits, setup costs and when they must be paid.
Use a quieter month to test the plan. Can the business cover the new bill when demand softens? Consider whether the space genuinely supports more sales or saves enough existing costs.
Break-even means covering costs. Decide what you also want left for the business and yourself.
Start with our free Product Pricing & Batch Planner to understand one product’s costs and selling price. Use those figures as a starting point for the space calculation; the planner is not a complete premises break-even model.
