You Don’t Need a Data Team: Seven Questions Your Business Data Can Answer This Week
You probably already have useful data: orders, receipts, stock counts and a calendar. Start with a question you can act on.
Which products sold most?
Which left the most after their direct costs?
When did orders arrive?
Where did enquiries or orders come from?
How much did customers spend per order?
Which products are still sitting unsold?
How much cash is available after the next bills fall due?
Pick one question. Gather the matching records for one consistent period. Note what is missing before drawing a conclusion.
Using AI? Try: “Use these figures for the dates shown. Answer my question, show the calculations, and flag missing information. Separate observations from possible explanations.” Check the answer against your records.
Your next move: write down one finding and one action. A useful review should help you decide what to change.
